Connect and control Agent Apps
Find an Agent App, choose its allowed tools, connect it, and manage access.
Agent Apps let the Runner Agent use an external service while working on your project. You can inspect the app's tools and turn off tools you do not want the Agent to use.
Before you start
Entry path: Project → Apps → Agent Apps
Agent Apps are conditional. The section can be hidden, an individual app can be unavailable, or the catalog can fail to load. Availability can vary by workspace, project, provider, and staged product access.
You need:
- access to the project;
- an account or credential accepted by the selected provider; and
- permission to let Runner use the tools you leave enabled.
Review every tool before connecting. Tool access applies to the current project and can allow the Agent to read or change data in the external service.
The external account connection belongs to your signed-in Runner account, while tool switches are saved for the current project. Disconnecting can therefore remove the connection used by other projects even though their tool choices are separate.
Find and inspect an app

App details controls

Connect an Agent App
- Open Project → Apps and scroll to Agent Apps.
- Search for the app or choose a category.
- Select the app card to open App details.
- Read its description and inspect every available tool.
- Turn off any tool Runner should not use in this project.
- Enter required provider credentials or select Connect & Authorize.
- Complete the provider step. If your browser blocks the authorization window, allow the popup for Runner and start again.
- Return to the dialog and confirm it says Connected.
- Select Manage later to review tool access or disconnect the app.
The connection dialog states that provider credentials are sent through the connection service and are not stored by Runner. You should still treat every credential as a secret and enter it only in the app's credential fields.
Change tool access
- Select Manage on the connected app.
- Find the tool you want to change.
- Turn its switch on or off.
- Wait for Tool enabled or Tool disabled.
- If Runner shows Failed to update tool, leave the dialog open, check the current switch after it refreshes, and retry only if the saved state is clear.
Disabling a tool limits Runner's use of that tool. It does not delete data previously created in the external service.
Repair or disconnect a connection
If the catalog no longer shows a usable connection, open the app and start Connect or Connect & Authorize again, then confirm Connected.
To remove access, select Manage → Disconnect, review the confirmation, and select Confirm. This removes the signed-in account's Agent App connection, not only the current project's tool access. If disconnecting fails, Runner keeps the connected state; do not assume the external account was removed.
If Agent Apps are missing
- The feature may not be enabled for the workspace.
- Clear search and set the category to All.
- Refresh Apps if the catalog never leaves its loading state.
- An individual app can report that it is not available to connect yet.
- If the tools list fails, select Retry inside App details.
- No specific catalog entry should be promised until it appears in the current workspace.
