Workspace General
Rename a workspace, update its description, and understand its delete boundary.
Workspace General controls the shared identity of a Runner workspace. Use it when the team name or description changes, or when you need to review the workspace danger zone.
What this covers
You will be able to update workspace details and recognize when a change has saved successfully.
Availability and prerequisites
- A workspace admin or owner is required to change the shared Name or Description.
- Only the workspace Owner can complete workspace deletion.
- Runner does not allow the last remaining workspace to be deleted.
Entry path
From the workspace Stores page, select avatar → Settings → Workspace → General.
Controls

Update workspace details
- Open Settings → Workspace → General.
- Edit Name or Description.
- Leave the field and watch the status.
- Wait for Saved before closing Settings or switching workspace.
- Reopen the page if you need to verify the persisted value.
States and limits
- Name cannot be empty and must stay within the displayed validation limits.
- Description accepts a short workspace summary and has a displayed character limit.
- Saving… means the change is still in progress.
- Saved confirms the current value was accepted.
- A save error restores or retains the previous saved value.
- Delete Workspace is disabled when this is your last workspace.
Delete boundary
Selecting Delete Workspace does not delete immediately. Runner asks an Owner to type the exact workspace name, then enables the destructive Delete button. The deletion cannot be restored from this screen and removes the workspace's data and settings.
Troubleshooting
- If an empty Name returns to its earlier value, enter a valid non-empty name.
- If Saved never appears, keep the dialog open, check the error, and retry.
- If Delete Workspace is disabled, this is likely the last workspace or the workspace has not loaded.
- If you opened the wrong workspace's settings, close the dialog and reopen it from the intended workspace.
