Agent Customization

Add reusable Skills and trusted Memory so Runner can work in a way that fits your store.

Runner's Agent Customization page brings Skills and Memory into one searchable place. Use it when you want Runner to repeat a useful method, remember a stable fact, or stop using a capability you no longer need.

What this covers

You will know how to open Agent Customization, find an existing capability, and choose whether a Skill or Memory is the right tool.

Availability and prerequisites

  • You need access to a store project.
  • Skills can depend on your current plan. If your plan does not include Skills, Runner shows the available upgrade path instead of enabling the action.
  • Memory appears only when the unified Memory feature is enabled for your account.
  • Older Skills, Memory, and Customize links redirect to this Agent page.

Open Agent Customization

From a project, open Control Center → Agent.

Choose between a Skill and Memory

  1. Use a Skill when Runner should follow a repeatable process, format, or set of instructions.
  2. Use Memory when Runner should retain a concise fact, preference, correction, convention, or decision.
  3. Keep secrets out of both. Never store passwords, API keys, payment details, or private credentials.
  4. Return to All and search for a term to confirm that the new item appears.

States and limits

  • Recommended for you shows a small set of trending Skills.
  • Added contains active Skills; Paused contains inactive Skills.
  • Discover can show loading rows, search results, or a no-results message.
  • A System Skill can be view-only or fixed. A Custom Skill can offer edit and delete actions.
  • An empty Memory area offers Add a memory. A search with no match offers Clear search without deleting anything.
  • Loading, plan, and unavailable states do not mean a capability was added.

Troubleshooting

  • If Memory is missing, the feature is not enabled for the current account. Continue using Skills or check again from visible navigation later.
  • If Add opens an upgrade screen, compare plans before making a billing decision.
  • If search finds nothing, clear the query and check All, Skills, and Memory separately.
  • If a change fails, keep the dialog open, correct the displayed problem, and retry. Do not assume a toast or loading state means the change completed.
