Automations
Find recurring store workflows, understand their status, and inspect what each automation is meant to do.
Automations help you find recurring work that Runner can perform when a listed trigger occurs.
Entry path
Open a store project → More → Automations.
Before you start
- Your plan must include the automation surface or the page will show an upgrade state.
- Each automation card has its own availability and status.
- Turning an automation on does not run it immediately; it waits for the trigger described by that automation.
Library controls and click results
| Control | What happens after you select it |
|---|---|
| Search | Filters cards by words in the automation name or description. |
| All or a category | Shows every automation or only cards from categories such as Customer Management, Store Operations, Reports & Analytics, Content Marketing, Paid Ads, or SEO. |
| State filter | Shows All States, Live, Paused, Blocked by plan, or Coming soon cards. |
| Card switch | Requests Live when turned on and Paused when turned off, if the automation is available. |
| Info button | Opens Automation details with description, status, category, and last run. |
| Edit button | Opens Compose email for automations that support an email template. |
| Retry | Reloads the library after a load failure. |
Screen size: The Info and email edit buttons are shown on wider desktop layouts. If you do not see them on a phone-sized screen, reopen Automations in a wider window.
Find the right automation
- Open Automations.
- Search for the outcome you need, such as a customer message or report.
- Narrow the list with a category when the result is broad.
- Use the state filter to find live or blocked items.
- Select the info button on a card.
- Read the description, status, category, and last run before changing the switch.
- If an email edit button appears, review the template before enabling the automation.
Status meanings
| Status | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Live | The automation is enabled and waits for its trigger. This does not mean it has already run. |
| Paused | The automation is available but will not start new triggered work until enabled. |
| Blocked by plan | The current plan prevents the automation from running. Review access before relying on it. |
| Coming soon | The card is visible for discovery but cannot be enabled. |
| Never run | No completed run time is available for this project. |
Troubleshooting
- If no cards match, clear Search, choose All, and choose All States.
- If a switch is disabled, read the card status and availability reason.
- If a switch returns to its earlier state, read the error message and reload the library before retrying.
- If the library fails to load, select Retry once and contact support if it repeats.
