States and availability
Read common Runner page, button, task, store, and connection states and choose the safest next action.
Runner uses states to tell you whether an action is ready, waiting, complete, blocked, or unavailable. Read the state before retrying or changing settings.
Entry path: Runner documentation → Help and reference → States and availability.
Store and publication states
| State | Meaning | Safe next step |
|---|---|---|
| Drafted | The project does not currently have a live published version. | Continue building and complete publication requirements. |
| Deploying | Runner is preparing a publication. | Wait for the state to finish; do not start repeated publications. |
| Published | A live version exists. | Open the live URL and verify the intended change. |
| Publish blocked | One or more required setup items are incomplete. | Open the named requirement and finish it. |
| Republish available | The draft contains changes newer than the live version. | Review the preview, then republish when ready. |
Task states
| State | Meaning | Safe next step |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting for you | Runner needs an answer, choice, approval, or missing detail. | Open the question and respond once. |
| Working | The current task is still running. | Follow its details instead of starting a duplicate request. |
| Completed | Runner reached the task's terminal success state. | Verify the visible result in the affected page. |
| Stopped | Work ended before completion. | Read why it stopped, correct the cause, then continue or send a focused follow-up. |
| Failed | The task could not finish. | Save the visible error and retry only after checking the cause. |
Page and control states
| What you see | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Disabled button | Required input, permission, plan, or state is missing. Nearby text usually names it. |
| Loading skeleton or spinner | Data is being requested. A persistent loading state needs a reload or support check. |
| Empty state | The page is available but the selected context has no items yet. Use the offered create or connect action. |
| Upgrade message | The current plan or limit does not allow the action. Review the live offer in Plan & Billing. |
| Connect or reconnect | The outside service is not connected or needs authorization again. |
| Page not found | The URL is unavailable for the current context, retired, or gated. Return through visible navigation. |
Runner version recovery
If Runner was updated while your tab was open, a full-screen recovery page can replace the current view. You cannot close it or use the page behind it until Runner loads a current copy.
| What you see | What happens next |
|---|---|
| A newer version of Runner is ready | Select Load latest version to reload the current tab with the latest Runner version. |
| You're offline | Load latest version is disabled. Reconnect to the internet; the action becomes available without leaving the recovery page. |
| Loading latest version… | Runner is reloading the tab. Keep it open while the action finishes. |
| We couldn't load the latest version | Check the connection, then select Try again. |
| Technical details | Expands the error code, reason, and detection time for troubleshooting. It does not retry or repair the page. |
